Watch the new Reviving our River short film
On Tuesday 16th September we celebrated the completion of the Upper Collie River Aquatic Habitat Restoration project with community members, river scientists, and the premiere of the Reviving Our River short film, at Harris River Estate in Collie.
The project focused on bringing life back to degraded river pools, creating better habitats for fish and other wildlife. The celebration highlighted not only the technical success, but also the commitment of everyone involved in making it happen.
Tackling environmental challenges can feel overwhelming, but projects like this show that practical steps taken together can really make a difference. Each effort helps strengthen our community’s ability to respond and adapt — and that sense of progress matters.

Take a few minutes to see what the project meant to our community and the difference it has made for the river. A big thank you to everyone who joined us at the celebration and contributed along the way.
This highly collaborative project is supported by funding from the Western Australian Government’s State NRM Program and South 32 Worsley Alumina. Further support has been provided by Department of Water and Environmental Regulation, OzFish Unlimited and Shire of Collie.
